In order to rent a car from Autoway you must be at least 23 years old, and for bigger vehicle categories you must be over 25. See our rental terms for details.
We provide pickup and drop-off at their airports of Crete, but also off-airport pickup. In addition, you could choose the most convenient location to your hotel. Chania airport and Heraklion airport is the most common locations people use.
When choosing a rental car in Crete, it is important to consider your travel needs, and determine the appropriate size vehicle you would need to accommodate your party during your trip. Check out some tips. If you plan on spending the majority of your time North of Crete, a compact or medium sized vehicle may be most appropriate. Yes! Just fill in the drivers’ information and make sure that he has a valid Passport or ID and a valid Drivers’ License. Keep in mind that we require a deposit to confirm your booking. Make your plans starting here.
Ask around! But be careful of offers that seem too “good to be true” or too low. Read the details of every company’s contract. What do the reviews say about them? Are they providing the service you want in case of emergency? Are they your ideal travel partner? Tripadvisor and Google reviews will you a great understanding of a company.
Consider what time of year are you planning on visiting Crete:
Low Season starts from October until June. High Season is June till September. Let us help you with any questions you might have.

1. Airports. We have pick-up and drop-off locations at both Airports (Chania and Heraklion), both in walking distance of the airport entrances.
2. Ports. We have pick-up and drop-off locations at Chania and Heraklion main ports.
3. Hotels and Villas. The distances between hotels and villas can be great. By communicating with our lovely team, we can arrange a car delivered to your location. Autoway is a family-owned company, thus we always try our best to keep up with the confirmation e-mails. Keep in mind that banking systems can take up to 5 business days until the transfer has been completed. We will get back to you as soon as we receive your deposit.

The Voucher is your Booking Confirmation where all the relative info about your reservation is presented which we send you via e-mail.
We will send you your voucher as an e-mail (info@autoway.gr) as soon as you fill in the information required in our form. Make sure to complete the deposit stated in the Quote you received for the Voucher to be valid.
Autoway’s policy offers unlimited kilometers (or miles) per day. Just make sure to spend time having fun on our beautiful island rather than driving all day!
Do I have to pay for toll roads?
Crete does not yet have toll roads. (I know, it’s awesome!)

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express for online payments. Please note at the time of pick up the local supplier will NOT require a security deposit to be left for the vehicle most of the times. Collision Damage Waiver/Loss Damage Waiver with excess limits the customers financial responsibility for loss or damage of the vehicle to the following amounts, so long as it is not caused by driver/renter negligence, or part of insurance exclusions. Terms and Conditions.
An international drivers license is required in several European countries and is strongly recommended if you are planning to travel to a country where English is not the dominant language.
International Driving Permits are Required in the Greece also for US Licensed Drivers.

The most popular rental categories in Crete are Medium – C (VW POLO) to Family cars – S (VW GOLF) or bigger SUVs like SKODA Karoq. We always ask in advance your flight numbers so we can calculate the time of your landing. Depending on time lost due to the delay, our lovely staff will reach out and notify you should there be any change regarding the pick-up place or time.

The Deposit is an amount of money paid by travelers to confirm their intent of renting a car. At Autoway, our reputation and trust are of utmost importance. Full Coverage includes any costs but (except):
Tires, Damage underneath the car, Off-road driving, Car keys. Driver’s Risk still applies and is the most you’d have to pay towards repairing or replacing the car if it got damaged caused by the renter or stolen.
